Lieutenant Colonel Bunja Darboe, who was among the plotters of the 2006 failed coup, has claimed that he was forced to write and sign a speech , which was later used at court martial as prima facie evidence against him.

Mr Darboe, while giving his testimony before the Truth, reconciliation and Reparation Commission yesterday the 19th of June 2019, said he was compelled to write a speech and read it on state television and to confess for planning to overthrow the regime of ex President Jammeh.

Darboe said the interrogation panel at the National Intelligence  Agency (NIA) accused him of writing  a speech which was  to be read when they take over power, an allegation he denied. He said the whole process was staged by the panelist to please ex president Jammeh and to misinform Gambians.
