The fourth edition of the FIKA 2019 was held on the 8th ,9th and 10th of February 2019 in kaolack Senegal, an event that was aimed at giving young entrepreneurs the opportunity to exhibit their talents and participate at the Trade Fair which can help them get the exposure they need to enhance their business.

The theme for this year’s edition focused on “The valorization of local products, trade and integration between Senegal and The Gambia” this lead to a week long program where young entrepreneurs where taught new ways of processing local food items for them to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders in their own community.
The 9th of February was dedicated to the Gambian team, Mrs. Adu Lette Sy the leader of the Senegalo-Gambian Women Network in The Gambia expressed her delight and thanked all their partners that helped them in making this day a success adding that this will go a long way in strengthening the union between Senegal and The Gambia. The day ended with a display of Gambian cultures and a great performance by the prominent Mandingo artist Tatadindin. It was indeed a memorial day for all those that were in attendance.

The last day of the Trade Fair began with a daylong forum which attracted prominent officials from both countries, amongst them was the former Vice President of The Republic of The Gambia Madam Fatoumatta Tambajang, she highlighted on the importance of the value added to this year’s celebration and urged the two governments to work closely for sustainable development in both regions while encouraging women to keep striving hard.
Serign Mboob the president of the chamber of commerce in kaolack laid more emphasis on the importance of women networking, adding that he envisage on seeing the two countries building a Senegambia micro-economic and financial bank which will help in financing future endeavors that the women will be involved in.

The FIKA 2019 celebration ended with a Gala Dinner where awards were given to all deserving individuals that have worked relentlessly in fostering development in their respective countries.
