JAMMEH, BAZZI ASSETS TO BE SEIZED BY STATE

Hon Abubacar Tambedou, Attorney General and Minister for Justice on Wednesday the 12th of June, announced that all assets belonging to former President Yahya Jammeh and Muhammed Bazzi who is also faced with a US sanction for financing terrorist activities in the middle East, will be forfeited to the state.
The ministry’s announcement came following findings made by the Commission of Inquiry into the financial activities of the former President Yahya Jammeh and his close associates.
Minister Tambedou also announced that the state has also made the decision to forfeit all “movable and immovable assets including developed and underdeveloped landed properties, shares and other acquisitions by the former President upon the expiration of freezing order.”
He informed that all those persons whose properties were acquainted by former President Jammeh through judicious sales by the Sheriff of the high court could contact the Solicitor General or Attorney General at the Ministry of Justice, in person or through authorized third parties between 24th and 28th June 2019.
