A memorable work is being done by the Young Mothers Association of The Gambia (YMA) which is a women foundation looking to transform the lives of the youths and their mothers for a better tomorrow. Founded by Fatoumatta Gaye, a young female motivator, peace advocator and entrepreneur to foster and empower young mothers in the country.
The foundation has already enrolled over twenty thousand women (20.000) in different communities of The Gambia through a nation wide tour to meet the population and listen globally the problem and challenges of women. During the tour from Serrekunda, Bakoteh, Sanchaba, Tanji, Gunjur, Sanyang, Brikama to Faraba and Essau, the Foundation has raised the voice of women to join hand in hand to create opportunities, develop the community projects, and create jobs.
The Young Mothers Association (YMA) wants to support women through trainings, financial and hygiene education, job and opportunities creation through donations and fundraising.
So far up to five thousand (5.000) members are listed and well organized at different levels and already benefiting from the foundation’s support.
The Young Mothers Association is a non-political and non-governmental entity that wants to see that transformation in women’s lives and conditions in The Gambia.
